Hi Norman Thomas
There should be this still on the 3.6 XJ-SC that I’m now breaking for spares – I’ll get someone to take a look for me tomorrow and I will let you know.
Laurence
I’ll check for you on Monday Martin, as can’t recall off hand.
Laurence
Hi Allan Dunsford
Does that work like a pay as you go scheme, so you don’t have to register/tax the car for the whole year (and then cancel the tax and get a refund for the months you don’t use – at less the monthly payment you paid to the Government).
Laurence
It has been mentioned that if any of the folk who had been on the Entente Cordial runs with Albert and Mary Scales were able to come to the Isle of Mann they’d be made most welcome. Mary Scales may well come across and stop at Jon’s while we’re over.
Trevor Kent I know did a number of trips with Albert and Mary.

Please remember, it doesn’t matter if you’ve not been active with your Jag for a while, just tell us what you hope to be doing with it in the future π
Therefore please, whenever you visit do find time to create a new Topic when you next visit, or reply to an existing one – even this one.
As the British Telecom Advert used to say – It’s good to talk

Thanks Jon Scales ( @jonscales ), with ideas like that we should be able to do a variety of vists/activities.
My thoughts are :
1/ Easter being 1st April is probably too early, weather wise – I don’t fancy a rough sea crossing π
2/ Bank Holiday weekend 5th – 7th May works best for me
3/ I’m wary that price increases and possibly road restrictions might impact our long weekend.Laurence
Have you got some replacement veneer Mark Thorley ( @m164 ) ?
Are you using heat resistant glue – just thinking of things getting hot in direct sun !
I’m really interested in the lacquer stage – I’ve some pieces where the veneer is good but the lacquer has pealed off.
Laurence
Jon Scales ( @jonscales ) and Mark Thorley ( @m164 ) I think this is a great idea, and I’m up for it.
I’ve created an Event in the Event Calendar Here where members can register their interest and comment.

I’m up for venturing over to IOM for a visit in my Cabriolet if you are Mark Mark Thorley ( @m164 ) – just have to time it right that you haven’t handed the car over to your brother Jon Scales ( @jonscales ) π

I have updated the Events Calendar so that members may register their intention to attend an event directly on the Event Page – thereby letting other members know who to look out for π
The event page for Jaguars at the Castle can be found by Clicking Here
Hopefully Graham Greenwood ( @grahamgreenwood ) will add some more details to this discussion soon.
Laurence
I have updated the Events Calendarβs functionality, and members can now register directly on an individual Event Page if they intend to attend.
Please visit here for the Link for Gorse Hill Event Page
Myself and Stephen Heywood ( @stephen-heywood ) have already registered ?

Hi Martin Ball ( @ball )
The bottom of the hood itself is fixed to the car by 8 – 10 flat head bolts spread around its perimeter. All around this perimeter is Velcro, which has the visible part of the hood itself stuck to it when you’re not using the cover – hides the bolts π
When you want to make things nice and neat by using the cover, you simply go around the bottom perimeter of the hood pealing back the Velcro and folding the visible part of the hood (that had be stuck to it) back on itself – by back on itself I mean in such a way that you’d see the male part of the Velcro strip and the female part of the strip one above the other all the way around – or another way to describe it would be that the bottom 2″ of the visible part of the hood is turned back on itself so it shows the Velcro strip.
Then you pop on the poppers on the cabin side, and pull the soft Tonneau cover down over the outside edge and push down on the Velcro – and you end up with a nice neat car.
I’ll take a picture tomorrow.
Laurence
Hi Martin Ball ( @ball )
Here are a couple of photos of the my Tonneau Cover fitted that doesn’t have any poppers – it just has Velcro on the boot side and nothing to clip the cabin side down
Ah, good point Woodsmoke ( @woodsmoke ), I wonder now if Gerben Haringsma ( @gerbenharingsma ) meant the front or rear ones.
The front quarter light rubber on my Cabriolet needs replacing, so you say they’re the same part number both side.
Laurence
Hi All,
I have placed the order to have these window rubbers remanufactured, and hope to have thme available in the iste shop by the end of August 2017.
Please click on the product in the SITE SHOP where you can go on the notification list.
Cheers,
Laurence
P.S. If there is sufficient interest I will look to get the Targa rubbers reengineered too – so let me know if this is of interest.
