Laurence JonesKeymaster13th August 2017 at 20:28 in reply to: North West meet up – Sunday 13th August – Cafe Cargo, Colne #7199Laurence JonesKeymasterWe had 3 XJ-SC Cabriolets and 1 XJS Convertible in attendance at today’s meet up. All three Cabriolets were 3.6 Manuals, and all had quad lights and the same leaper arranged over the growler.
Also we had an XJS Coupe and an XJS Lynx Eventer, an E-Type, an XK8 Coupe, an XKR Convertible from the Greater Manchester JEC, and a Mini Pickup came along too
Thanks to everyone who turned up.

Laurence JonesKeymasterHi Norman Thomas
I’ve checked my donor/scrap cabriolet, and I’m afraid there’s only the back bit of the box, the front bit with the tapered pipe appears to have been donated to my Red Cabriolet already.
Laurence
Laurence JonesKeymasterHi Steven Foster

Laurence JonesKeymasterIs it just Mark, Graham and myself going this year ? – are you not going Bryan Thomas
Laurence
Laurence JonesKeymasterHi Richard Hartwell
I will take a look on Monday evening when I’m up at the garage where the car is currently.
Laurence
Laurence JonesKeymasterHi Gerben,
I do think that somewhere I have a pair of these in good condition. The door cars themselves are not in good condition, as the hardboard has got damp and turned into tissue paper.
Laurence
Laurence JonesKeymasterMark Thorley I seem to remember being told that the original gear knob on our cars is a really heavy one, for the specific reason of stopping the whole gear lever from vibrating
Laurence
Laurence JonesKeymasterHi Bob Flint
I’m going to guess it’s a metric thread, but how do you measure it – is it the diameter of the bolt, but how do you determine the thread type, or is there only on pitch (or whatever thread coarseness is measured in).
Laurence
Laurence JonesKeymasterHi lloyd roberts
How was Silverstone ? I hope there were plenty of folk interested in your Cabriolet – any photos to share ?
