        Welcome Christopher Farlow ,

Hope you find the site interesting and feel free to participate in any new or past discussion topics.

If you could reply to this topic and tell us how you discovered our website, a little about your Cabriolet, and even something about your enthusiasm and interest in them.

You have two Photo Albums created for you on this site, it would be great if you could add a photo or two of your Cabriolet for all members to see.

I see you are based in the Midlands Christopher, will you be heading to Warwick Castle on Sunday for the Jaguars at the Castle event ? There are a number of us aiming to be there and it would be nice if you could join us.

            Hi Laurence Thank you.
My Cab, has had several owners prior to me however it has just clocked 60000 miles and been in my collection for over 20yrs.
Although kept in professional storage and hardly used I have had a lot of work done on it. some major work includes
Bare metal respray after new front wing D/S L & R rear valances brakes discs callipers, new rad and crossmember and the fuel tank was removed and restored (try to find a Cab fuel tank?) All done due to Britishleyland corrosion. Whats lacking the interior needs some TLC I had a complete good as new one to fit but unfortunately it was stolen from the workshop of the people who were contracted to fit it.

Why do I have it and spend so much on it the answer is quite simple this is my second XJS and this 3.6 manual is just a joy to drive. I have a modern day Range Rover which is also a very nice vehicle however in 20yrs time I doubt if it would be as enjoyable or cheaper to run.

The XJS-C was first registered in 1985. The restoration company told me it was a ‘Tickford version’ as they were part of Aston Martin at the time and Jaguar gave them some XJS cars to convert to convertibles and they came up with the Cabriolet

I have quite a few pictures of some restoration work

            Best regards Chris Farlow

Thanks Christopher for supplying the VIN

Your Cabriolet which has been on the Data Base for over 20 years First Registered C 200 CJO (Oxford) owned for many years by O J Wells, is not a Tickford built car, it is car number 488 build date—- 15-May-85

Although there is no record of when the change over was it’s thought to be Circa 100 .

                Hi John,
Thanks for the up date I believe it was supplied by Jaguar Mayfair London. I put the vehicle on the data base about that time ago.

The ordinal Reg was changed for a private plate however it is now back to C288 DVG.
