Hi Woodsmoke
Sorry I did not answer your question No the Cabriolet went many years ago but after owning the Reg number 92 HOT for over 50 years it has to stay. Yes you are correct it is on an XK8 and has been for 18 years October it was the 20th Anniversary of the XK8,
Sue & I were at the launch at Jaguar and was disappointed that due to my illness I would not be able to attend the event at
GAYDON, However thanks to my friends at Sturgess Jaguar Leicester the car made it and was parked in prime position.
As things are progressing I am determined to after three years I shall drive her this year sometime even if only around the block
Hi Woodstock
I certainly recognise the photo I could visualise it days ago but could not remember where it was thanks for reminding me.
I remember it must be circa 1990 Duncan came over to Grimsby and took 100’s of photos of 92 HOT about 15 appear in his book,
along with some of Bryan’s Cabriolet 841 BRY. —Is it OK Woodsmoke to copy two of the photos to put on File.

Way back in October 2010 you promised to supply a photo and the elusive number from the boot.
Can you supply these now ?
Hi Guys.
The wind deflector was a Jaguar optional Xtra but was as much use as an ash tray on a motor bike.
Over the years I have found very few with them fitted, Have searched through my album and found just two.
Afraid the one that Bryan has made does not look like the real thing I hope you don’t have it fitted when
you are in Concours POINTS LOST.Photo 329 does not exist
Photo 330 does not exist

Hi Kim just happen to know you are a Cabriolet owner and you joined the ICR on May 07, 2012 Strange I can’t find you on here on the list of Cabriolet owners, What’s happened Laurence.
I WILL ASK Bryan if there is a digram in the Parts Manual it does not have photographs
HI Woodstock Perhaps I can help The old JAGICR was started by me many years ago when NING made an offer I could not refuse I gave them an idea of what I wanted and for FREE JAGICR was up and running. After a period of time every one was informed that their Web Sites would have to be paid for monthly or annually for a reduced fee.At this point I looked for sponsorship which came from Growler Jaguar parts & Sturgess Jaguar. As time went on I became to ill to carry it on and as nothing had been happening I was not prepared to accept any more sponsorship money as we were not reciprocating. Having informed all members circa 200 that I was shutting it down, Laurence offered to take over at his own expense. The rest is history.
Afraid you need Laurence to answer the last part must say I agree it would be helpful as would notifications which I think Laurence has in hand.
BLEASIE.
Had a look at the photos pity they don’t enlarge but you can clearly see the rear quarter light is original so with the hood up you could easily spot it was a conversion no matter how good the conversion it was, I could never understand why people had them done you could buy a genuine Cabriolet for less than a conversion.
Cheers Woodsmoke You of course are spot on the 7th letter was the proof I needed.
What is more interesting about it all is How did they know about me & the web site & my phone number.
I could not get any information from them. All I can think is they did not want the person that gave out my details in trouble.
Re Conversions years ago I was told there was a company in Blackpool but I can’t remember their name. Problem I have is that owners of these CONVERSIONS will not accept the fact that I can’t add them to the data base. 5013 were built and thats it.Ok that helps I will stop looking how to do it.
Hi Laurence Did you not check 125607 against the Spread sheet I supplied you with or is it not working ?
As the first Convertible is 140952 April 1987 it must be a Coupe OR an after market conversion of some sort.Hi David
Have never had the privilege of a ramp only a pit, If you think about it the ramp would only lift it to a better working height,
Your front wheels would still need removing so the car would still need supporting just the same as if it was on the floor.
So yes it can be done without a ramp. It’s a pity you can’t add photos, You never know it may come with time Rome was not built in a day. Wow the edits working now,Well you may be able to post messages BUT you still have not been put back onto the list of Cabriolet Owners.`
As at 17,39 7th Feb 2017 Helge is still missing
Thanks for the explanation You certainly have a lot to do pleased its you not me.
I am really only interested in new Cabriolets but having so many I cant remember all the names that pop up
so I have to check them against my Data Base.I did not recognise Stephen Haywood’s name but he was there.
Cheers JohnYes I remember there was sneak preview another reason it made me ask the question.
It’s a bit of a pain keep having to go look just to see any thing has been posted.
I suspect it will be a while before it gets to 400 but as you said in the E mail
Pretty good for one week Not only have you gained some new members the Data Base has gained three new Cabriolets Which brings the total to 11 new finds this year.Hi there Jyrki
For many years I tried dozens of products including the Jaguar one which eventually they took off the market.
Since then I found the perfect one it’s From Auto Glym its a twin pack one Cleaner one water proof PLEASE follow the instructions to the letter. What I found best was to use cling film instead of plastic sheet.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUTOGLYM-CABRIOLET-CONVERTIBLE-FABRIC-HOOD-CLEANING-KIT-/162376771214
Would suggest your first port of call Jaguar Classic Spares,
Bleasie
