OK Laurence that’s what I thought must be the case so I gave that a try. Three names on the 17 Members list have Vin numbers shown.Steve Flint is the owner of Vin 129372. & I know Rudy Schats thinks he is a member he certainly still has Vin 115433 —I am even more confused now.
Cheers John. The main problem with getting one from a breaker is they manage to break off the pins which means you would need to glue them on or make a backing of double sided sticky tape.I have seen some attempts at refurbishing them with silver foil they stick out like a sore thumb. Based on all I have read mine that I sold for £100.00 was a bargain. As Robin says way back when none available even Jaguar Heritage among the 100’s of badges in the cupboard in the Archives not a one to be found as there were only 5013 cars built they would not be as plentiful as say the XJS badge which you can easily get for circa £20.00
Most US cars have them fitted not sure if it’s all Stephen Tebben will know.
Mark
Try looking for “Mean & Roofless” they are out there in Cyberspace full of useful information,Hi Robin
Great to know there is another Anorak in the group.I can not find the link to the advert but I am sure the advert said the hood had never been used / fitted which is the clue as to why it did not have press studs fitted.
As you correctly say new hoods came with a box of studs & dealerships were supplied with the tool for fitting them.
As the new cars were delivered they were sent into the workshop to have them fitted [not the type of job that could be done on the production line too time consuming]
Nice to know some one else knows about Happich & Fosters as I understand it these have not been available for many years & certainly not in the three colours.
There are a few new “ODD” Targa Panels available matching pairs have not been available for a long time.
Keep up the good work “Woodsmoke”

Thats an absolute bargain the postage charge is high but many do that so as not to lose commission on everything. The hood is off a car that was recently for sale at Robert Hughes so should be in good condition. The last good one in Black fetched £100.00 4 years ago.
Just a though Mark why not leave a link rather that an item number,
Hi Richard Every XJS I have owned did that some more than others even my XK8 has done it for 18 years.
Cheers Jon looks good to me up dated
Well will try to answer both of you in the one reply
Mark I can again assure you 148574 is not a Cabriolet–Vin 148594is the last Cabriolet built and was owned by JDHT until they had their clearcut a few years ago at Silverstone Auctions,
The early Cabriolets from Body number one were as you suggested used for testing etc the earliest to survive being Body # 005 but as Body numbers don’t run consecutively it was in fact the 9th car built & to date 25 years later on since I created the Data Base nothing earlier has shown up/
The cars used by Tickford in designing the Cabriolet were old stock V 12’s Coupes with rear seats & safety belts.Hi Mark did you spot the mistake on their figures for Cabriolets ?
I suspect a lot of help came from Jaguar Cars in one way or another. I did of course spot the oldest Cabriolet in existence being searched by armed police but never spotted another So you you were there then Trevor.
The transit hood were / are like gold dust I tried to get the one from my XK8 Convertible but it had dissapeard long time ago
As you drove into Browns Lane and headed towards JDHT and looked to the right 100’s of them fitted to XK8’s awaiting shipment.
Years earlier it would have been XJS Convertibles can’t recall them on the Cabriolet.Hi Laurence no sign of Paul on the list of LATEST members & can’t find him on the Data Base,
Thanks Laurence I will tell her to go to spec savers,
Well Mark not off to a good start 113085–Second Production 5.3 Cabriolet built to US spec.
Jaguar Cars Company Car.Not located in over 20 years.I doubt if it is still alive and well.
Better luck with the second one Vin 108026 was the first 3.6 which was destroyed along with the next 7.
not a production car.
Vin 148574 is not the Vin of a Cabriolet.
Vin 144591 Last 3.6 Cabriolet built and the last “3.6 Automatic”No idea about the Convertibles that’s over to Laurence.
That’s the rare Curlew Metallic (AFT 704) Cabriolet that was up for sale a few months ago.
number 26 of 29 inCurlew Metallic (AFT 704)Hi Nick that was quick However I found your message but instead of you being listed at the top of the list i.e. latest joined so I could not find you when I search for you Laurence has not listed your joined DATE so you appear at the other end Anyway found you now Welcome
