Hi Roger,
I doubt if you will find a no rust free unless it has been restored and you will be looking at a lot more than that.
All I can suggest is that you search and if you find one let me have the Vin then I can check it out to see if it has a history.
Regards
BLEASIEThis has jut popped up might be worth a look
Hi there Ray
The Cabriolet you are talking about has been on the Data Base for a some time,
Found For Sale by Bleasie listed on a Car Dealer website called Exotic Classics in Syosset, New York on Long Island on August 14, 2015 It was built
December 1987 and is car number 4545 of 5,013 builtRegards
Bleasie.Hi Roger
Lets get it right If you are referring to a Cabriolet it’s XJ-SC— What is your Budget & where are you located?HI Richard
Thanks for that the Red one looks nice with only 17,000 miles
THE white one no Mileage
No history with either of them too early cars not be available until 1st APRIL.
6 popped up for sale overnight 2 new ones 3 updates 1 can’t identify.Regards
Bleasie.Hi Ray welcome to the Group
Your profile says you have a Cabriolet, however the VIN you have supplied is not that of a Cabriolet.
Can you confirm if the VIN is that you have an XJ-SC or a Convertible.
Regards
Bleasie.
As always looking very good Bryan
Hi Stephen are you able to obtain the correct profile rubber, That was another problem I had, I managed to get a pair from a scrap car as a sample but could not find a supplier. To date most owners get the XJS ones & cut them to fit then super glue them back together.
Hi Robin Right dependant on how keen you are to clean your car depends how much you are prepared to spend. This is what I call the starter kit circa £115.00 . Once I know it has loaded I will put a write up under the photographs/I bought the larger quantities 20Ltr not available on line. it’s up to you Red Thunder or Outrageous Orange. “READ INSTRUCTIONS” on all the products.
So you will need 4 spray’s 3 for the cleaning products 1 for clean water, WD 40 comes with spray gun.
This is the one I have used ever since it was available in UK £19.94
Some think this is better than Red Thunder but it was not around when I started £19.94
This product id un believable £23.79
Although expensive it’s brilliant £23.00
Normal Garden centre price £26.29 each Amazon £13.35 each looked after will last years. You need 4 I found an offer box of three +1
Much cheaper than the spray cans £22.25 5 Ltr’s + applicator
Not sure if this will work if not can you delete it please Laurence.
Worked great as EDIT working OK today,Hi Russ are you referring to the half hard top with electricaly heated rear screen that was an optional extra.
In the 31 years I have been involved with XJ-SC I have come across possibly half a dozen people that have wanted to buy one.
So not a viable proposition Also I along with Jaguar Classic parts tried to get the seals reproduced along with the seals for the rear quarter lights again not cost effective. Incidentally How did you manage to locate the new group?
Regards Bleasie.
Hi Woodsmoke
I have searched the archives and found the articles you mentioned it is in 2 parts I could always E mail you the originals.
I will just make adjustments to the dates It was written in 2008 I think.—-In October I was fit enough to potter around the garage I found all the pump up garden sprays had passed their sell by dates, So I replaced them with more up to date and smaller ones. I also decanted my bulk items into 5Ltr dispensers see photo of my cleaning corner,

Thanks for the replyI have your Vin what I am looking for is the elusive number which is not located on the build sheets of any Cabriolet. It is located in the LEFT HAND SIDE rain drain of the boot, They are nor consecutive nor is the stamp uniform. Also I do not have a photograph your Cabriolet .Here are a few examples of boot numbers.
Great addition Laurence Cheers
Hi Roland
Here is a selection of Regent Grey Cabriolet’s so many different types of coach line. The thin Red are known as Sports Package.
Knowing the owner of the last photo 405 and the car it is Ex Jaguar Cars and original.Try David Manners.he was selling re pros.the originals ran out around 25 years ago
No you are correct to a degree I did write an article in two parts.
But not sure where I could post it as it has photos inserted in it
I used to buy the WD bulk and put it into pump up spray guns.Well as if by magic you are now on the list & was able to find you,I thought you were in MALTA.
Any way if any one can help AS Roland said it’s a 1985 in Regent Grey Metallic (LDL 315) with Saville Grey (LDY) interior trim.
By the way it’s Cassar. From what I remember Stephen the Convertible is one long locker box whereas the Cabriolet has two locker boxes
as far as I an aware they will not fit a Cabriolet so they would be of no use to Paul.No Laurence it’s original.I did just after I bought it 18 years ago have a Stainless Steel Exhaust fitted.MILTEC with a life time warranty. She just gets cleaned after every outing. Currently sat over the pit covered over until I am fit enough to drive again. My XJ-SC at 125,000 miles was just as good will dig out some photos.
Cant get used to having to put photos into a gallery and make a note of their numbers before writing. Have never had to do this before.
