Hello Guy Roelandts @guyroel
You’re car looks good in those photos – It is currently on the Club’s home page for all to see

[/one_half][one_half_last] [/one_half_last]We have 7 members of the XJS Soft Tops Club in Belgium with a mix of Cabriolets and Convertibles. My wife and I are considering visiting Belgium again soon (we were there at New Year and Easter) and maybe organise a meet up of us all.
Cheers,
Laurence
Laurence JonesKeymasterHi Mark @mark
I asked around a few places and no one has a suitable 2nd hand fuel pump. However, I’ve been told that you can get yourself a brand new one from places like ABS and BMS.
Cheers,

I’ve just spent a couple of hours playing with the code in the background and I believe I have sorted the problem – the bits of code should indeed be hidden when you save the posting (for all users and not just me).
Cheers,

No, don’t remove the leaper from the plate.
The leaper has a pin that goes through the plate into the locating hole in the car’s bodywork, but no need to remove the leaper from the plate itself.

I’ve just been out and tried – it appears that there is a pin through the plate from the leaper’s tail into a locating grommet on the car. The leading edge of the plate is simply bonded to the car with a mastic – I gently prized the plate away from the bonding.
Care – the backing plate is thin and prone to bending
Once I removed my plates I found some rust behind, which will have to be treated before the plate with the leaper is returned to the car.
Hope this helps,
Laurence

You’re correct, the HTML shouldn’t be visible – seems the filter isn’t allowing <'font'> through. I’ll have to take a look 🙁

Laurence JonesKeymasterHi Jon
I think it might be worth it if you check under the rear parcel shelf cover piece – you may well find the captive nuts for the rear seatbelts, as per the orignal Coupe configuration.

There is a feature called @Mention available to all members already – simply include the member’s UserId with the @ sign infront of it and that member gets a notification they’ve been mentioned in the topic/reply @memberid
Click Here to see that article about that feature.

Laurence JonesKeymasterHi Robin
The Lady Diana Cabriolet only ever had the hardtop fitted – never the folding hood. This I understand was for two safety reasons – risk around rear passengers being garotted on the T’Bar if not wearing seatbelts properly, and secondly the safetly of royals from attack.
I believe that Gerben Haringsma reconstructed the rear board when he was restoring his Cabriolet.

I’ve split your discussion into a new topic from the Production Figures thread.
I have explored, and continue to explore, options to send out an email daily or weekly (configurable by each member’s preference) listing all New Topics or Replies posted in that timeframe. However, I’ve yet to find a module that works satisfactorily and therefore have not updated the site to have this functionality.
I do however want to introduce this important notification service to our Club site, but not until I can get it working smoothly – the last thing 200+ members need is 5 or 6 notifications emails a day filling up their in-boxes.

Yes, I must admit I sometimes only visit once in a while. I also read the JEC and XKEC forums in similar fashion, so my available time gets divided between them.
Maybe an email when someone adds to a thread would be useful, as like you I only realise maybe a week or two after original post.

Thanks,

Laurence JonesKeymasterHi Vinny
Thank you for your comprehensive response, and for uploading some photos

I knew that there were a few bodyshops around the world who were undertaking to create bespoke XJ-S Convertibles, whilst the XJ-SC Cabriolet was still in production and for sale. I personally hadn’t heard of a Banham created XJ-S Convertibles – and it would be really good to learn how different they are from either the US Hess and Eisenhardt bespoke Convertibles (around the same date as yours) and the later Jaguar produced modelsGreat to have you and your car in the Club

Laurence JonesKeymasterTo help members fit theses replacement rubbers themselves I’m seeking to create a set of instructions for the remove of the glass from the car and for refitting into the new rubber.
I will publish an Article here once I have details and photos.
