Just doodling, and was wondering whether a hook on the catch would make it more convenient to remove the hard top (thereby avoiding the squeeze into the back of the car to undo the two bolts).

I haven’t contacted AutoGlym….I suspect they would point to the bit in the instructions where it says ‘try out on a less visible area first…’. I am not quite sure where that would be on a car hood….plus there is the doubt over whether the hood has gone black because it’s wet or because…. it’s gone black ! The cleaning product is colourless/white so I guess it has removed the blue…at least temporarily….still have fingers crossed that it ‘fades’ to blue (perhaps on imminent trip to France, if the sun is shining there). A photo now would just be of…a black hood.

As a matter of interest, can XJ-SC tops be re-covered ? Where ?
