    Hi Laurence,

First of all sorry for being so slow to answer … been away and a bit too busy here.

In fact your acticle helped in combination with some others I found on the Jag-Lovers forums.
After having removed the cluster all I did was replacing the small bulbs by led ones, clean the copper contacts and put everything
in place again … since then I drove about 2000kms and no issues anymore.

What I still have to do is replace the bigger bulbs, the one residing behind the green domes, last I looked at it I was unable to remove
everything to gain access to them … need to take a second/closer look at it.

When I have some spare time, in the coming months maybe, I’ll try to get back to you with some comments on your procedure, to
me some comments could be added for novice people like me.

    Regards,

    Guy

    Hello Dave,

No it doesn’t match exactly, but your explanation helps. In fact I have 4 headlights having each 2 holes, but on theouter ones I have two bulbs, and on the inner ones only 1 buld. Need to check which buld is the high or low beam though.

Thank you for the reply anyway.

    Hi Dave,

Thank you for the answer, should have mentionned my car was a 5.3 V12 from 1990. Will take a look in the engine compartiment and try to locate it where you say.

    Hi Laurence,

Sorry I didn’t mention it before, I didn’t know you had spares available … now I know and will surely contact you before I try to source

them from other locations. As I didn’t buy it yet, maybe I could wait till you come over again in the spring/summer period. I am not in a

hurry to have it replaced anyway.

And thanks to you and David on the comments on how they are fitted and how to remove them. I know we have to be careful with those

type of parts, having replaced some of the same type on my TR4.

    Regards,

    Guy

    Hi Laurence,

About the Belgian members, I saw the list of owners.
When you talk about your visit to our country, you will be more than welcome, I just need to mention that I am in a business that requires our presence on week-ends too (we own a manege, where my girl friend teaches horse riding). We have a club house that we could use to meet.

PS: yesterday I was reading the article about the “chassis / body” numbers, I tried to reply to the message but the link to do so
    does not seem to work

    Regards,
    Guy

    Hello Laurence,

There must be a mistake somewhere … I don’t own 3 XJS cars, just bougth one 😉 … it is still in the process to
get its registration number (it is quite complicated here in Belgium when the car was imported)

My car is a XJ-S first registered in 1990, it is the 5.3 V12 convertible model. I also own two other cars, another
Jaguar (an XK150 FHC from 1959) and a Triumph (a TR4 from 1964, which I bougth about 21 years ago already).

Once I get some pictures I will post them.

    Regards,

    Guy
