I have found out that you cannot replace a Cassette player in my 1987 Cabriolet with a CD player from a later model without having to make adjustments to the dashboard and wiring system. I have purchased a small CD player with its own sound system. It is plugged into the cigar lighter and held in place with Velcro on the rear storage place behind the seats. it works perfectly even with the roof down. I now have the choice of two systems for music whilst retaining the cars original specs.
