Hi John Bleasdale
134821 is on the Mini Database you sent me.
I see you are based in the Midlands Christopher, will you be heading to Warwick Castle on Sunday for the Jaguars at the Castle event ? There are a number of us aiming to be there and it would be nice if you could join us.
Laurence
I see you live in Leeds David – hope we’ll be able to meet you at one of the northern meet ups that we have – hopefully we’ll have another soon.
The only one planned at the moment is over in Conwy, North Wales in October
Laurence
We have quite a lot of members in Belgium now – maybe we should organise a meet up of everyone.
Laurence
Gosh John Prentice that is one long story you’ve shared with us – thanks.
That is quite a challenge, not something most folk would undertake – well done you.
Have you kept a record of each stage and photos along the way – I for one would be really interested in hearing it. If we can’t do it ourselves it’s the next nearest thing to enjoy hearing how someone else has – the most I’ve undertaken in recent years is to swap complete interiors from one XJS coupe to another.
Thanks for joining us
Laurence
Hi Mark Thorley
That’s a really good question you’ve raised there. Difficult to answer really. I remember the dilemma when I was a child as to whether to keep shinny new toys in their boxes or play with them, and I decided then that I’d play with them as much as possible, treat them with respect and then store them away in their boxes after (that way I got to play with new toy cars every time I fetched them out of their boxes),
Therefore, I’d go for putting the NOS parts on the car, and raising the standard of the car up as high as possible.
What do other members think ?
Laurence
Hi Ulf Hanson
I have just spent an hour updating the membership profile forms, to allow 2 Convertibles to be registered 🙂
If you click on My Account on the top menu, followed by XJS Ownership you will now be able to add both Convertible’s details.
Sorry for inconvenience – just needed to add some code to the website.
Laurence
Hi Pascal Mathieu
I have just noticed that you have two Convertibles, but the membership registration form is limited to 1. I have now updated this to 2 Convertibles.
If you select My Account on the main menu above, followed by XJS Ownership you will be able to update your ownership profile.
Cheers,
Laurence
Hi Gerard Harings
Thanks for joining us here – don’t worry about having ‘two left hands’, it’s the cars that are important here 🙂
Laurence
I drove a Mark 2 Escort rally car around the disused Witney Airfield on a couple of rallies in the mid-1980’s.
Are you thinking of venturing up to Warwick on Sunday 10th September to the Jaguar at the Castle event – there are a number of us going – Click here to visit the Event page
Cheers,
Laurence
Thanks Mark,
The car is running a little better today, as has regained its power. However on slow running/idle it is running rough/lumpy.
Hope it will sort itself out over the next few days as we explore the Dordogne.
Laurence
Hi Michael Hampton
There is a company called Car Hoods Direct – http://www.carhoodsdirect.co.uk they do replacement Cabriolet hoods with I think material for covering your 2 Targa panels – not cheap though at circa £1,200 I think
Laurence
Hi Steven Foster , how’s the work on your Cabriolet progressing, or are you leaving it for something to do in the winter (not that the current weather in the UK is that summery).
Will you be attending Warwick, in either of your Jags ?
Laurence
I’ve heard from Steve and Susie March that they’ll be attending Warwick in one of Richard’s Cabriolets, and I believe Nick Standley
Anyone else thinking of attending this event ?
I see that you live in Bognor Regis – will you be venturing to the Goodwood Revival in September ?
Laurence
We now have 5 members based in Belgium 🙂
Laurence
Hi John Bleasdale
Geoff Bott has fully updated the details of Cabriolet.
Cheers.
