Bare Metal rebuild – by Martin Reddington


This is the first part of a multi-part article that has been written by new member Martin Reddington, from Kent in the United Kingdom, about the bare metal restoration of his Xj-SC Cabriolet.

My 1988 XJ-SC V12 was purchased in late 2018 and although it looked reasonable superficially, detailed inspection revealed a myriad of issues.
I wasn’t too daunted by this because it was always the intention to do a complete restoration, but you naturally hope for the best.
