UK Cabriolet to Australia – by member James Ogilvy-Stuart

This article that has been written by James Ogilvy-Stuart, who is originally from Hertfordshire, Uk. His career took him first to Hong Kong in his mid thirties where he lived for more than 20 years. He has since been based in Far North Queensland, Australia, since late 2019 and was granted a four year visa to remain there just days before international borders were closed following the outbreak of the Covid pandemic. So what used to be their holiday home has now become semi-permanent home.

How I came to write this article

The process began as I was keen to know how many Right Hand Drive 3.6 Manual examples had been produced and a web search led me to John Bleasedale’s very informative and helpful article on this site.

This helped me to discover, via the table on the right, that my car is actually quite a rare beast; one of just 563 ever built and one of 57 in its production year of 1987.
