Laurence,
I concur with both Alan and David, we store all the jags with moisture traps inside. Just need to be careful if you leave it for a while to empty them regularly.

If anyone has is subscribed to Amazon Prime it is available to watch at no cost!

Stig,
I have a similar issue on the folding back panel on my cab, I have had to use a screw driver to push the clip in when releasing the hood. I found a little squirt of WD40 helped.

Another thought for somewhere to visit would be Magnetic Hill…..For the Scientists among you…..
There is of course the 19:30 boat from Liverpool on the Friday night (4th May), which arrives around 22:15. Would mean being at Pier Head by about 18:30.
Jon
Dear All,
Ferry prices have now been released for the Steam Packet (aka Steam Racket), the following ferries are currently scheduled;
Saturday 5th May Heysham (Lancs top part of M6)
12:00 arriving Isle of Man 14:15Monday 7th May Isle of Man to Liverpool (Pier Head)
15:30 arriving Liverpool 18:15The cost of a Car and two passengers is £194. I will get in touch with the Hotel to see if we can get a combined rate for the weekend. In terms of identification, at the moment you do not need any, but I would advise at least photo id if there is an issue and you have to fly.
Jon
Laurence,
Maybe we can have a look in May when you are over! Currently the Cabbie is tucked up in bed waiting to have a rattle looked at (when gear box engaged) and the Climate Control checked as it was causing a damp patch in the passenger foot well.
Robin, mine are definitely three point harnesses just an engage and tighten style rather than full inertia belts.
Jon
Gents,
Mine has got rear seats, with the studs and the roof folds down properly!!!! The only issue is that the seat belts are not the traditional standard as per a normal rear seat belt, but an attach and tighten style! Wanting to fit proper ones in the back for the kids and a car seat. Still has a little bit of a parcel shelf.

14th August 2017 at 14:10 in reply to: North West meet up – Sunday 13th August – Cafe Cargo, Colne #7230Looks like a very nice line up of cars and that the weather held for you.
Jon
I have been in touch with a local Hotel up in Ramsey (in the North of the Island) to see if we can get some preferential rates for the weekend in question.
They are in the process of getting a rough combined price for the stay and the ferry.
Jon
And the number plate definitely is not a GBM as it is not the correct format…..lol
Mark Thorley did Laurence pass on my mobile number?
Jon
Culture Vannin have very kindly done me a correct translation for the event (hopefully going ahead)
Jaguar XJS Soft Tops Isle of Man Tour = Mullagh bog Jaguar XJS er turrys Ellan Vannin
Mark, my dad had some stuff for his. I didn’t bring it back with me, but when I see my mum at the weekend I will go into the garage and have a look for it. I know cleaning wise I tend to use the Meguiars Leather cleaner and conditioner.
Jon
Need to get the translation checked but we could have something along the lines of Jaguar Dy Kiune Boare Tinvaal Turrys – or Jaguar Soft Tops Tynwald Tour.
The last option, Practice week will have more restrictions in place definitely….Both Road wise and Accommodation, many places are booked up from one year to the next….In terms of the Practice Week, Saturday 26th roads would shut at 6:00pm and not re-open until 9:30’ish, Sunday they would be open all the time and then the Monday would be the same as the Saturday. Also, they make the mountain road one way for the TT these days and other stretches where the speed limit is de-restricted have speed limits imposed. Advantage of the mountain one way is that you can let fly over there and not worry about lanes, but we would have to book Accommodation pretty much now.
The second two options on dates are probably better for me. That way I can make the most of getting the Cab MOT’ed and Taxed as late as possible in the year to bring it back over here. If we have enough then I will talk to Manx National Heritage and hopefully be able to park the cars up below the wheel for a nice photo shoot.
Also I will have a chat to a nice hotel up in Ramsey to organise bed and breakfast. The car park is not covered but it would be good to have all of them lined up outside. It is also quiet in the evenings.
Hmmmm….what can I say about the weather….predominantly we get a south westerly up the Irish Sea. It can change within minutes. This year late April early May was reasonable. TT was very variable….the first two or three days of practice were cancelled so they had to squeeze in where possible. It was only real the tail end of practice that improved and then ran into race week. If it was tail end of May, ie TT practice week, evenings are trickier around the course as the road shuts at 6 and does not reopen until 9:30. Race week the roads shut during the day.
Jon
A few possibilities for places to visit and would be good to get pictures of the cars together.
The Sound, has a nice Cafe, overlooking the Calf of Man
The Lady Isabella (the largest working water wheel) also know as the Laxey Wheel. A couple of nice pubs just below the wheel.
Niarbyl, again just picturesque with a nice Cafe
And one for the bikers among you as well – The Bungalow, just along the Mountain Mile on the TT Course
Just be warned, we will have to look carefully at timing as the TT ramps up the prices for ferries and availability of room on board and accommodation, also there are more roads that are un-restricted for you to try Mark. If there are enough I will get in touch with the Jurby Motor Museum and maybe we could meet up in the forecourt there.
