This I do know – but for V12s only not for straight six cars.
V12 cars with the 6CU, 16CU & 26CU ECU require modification to the ECU to delete the fuel injector over run cut off. The 36CU cars do not require this modification – the revs drop between upshifts BUT the engine does not stall.

93 6.0ltr 2+2 convertible – Spindrift White with Isis Blue leather. Owned for just short of 12 years & recently converted to 5 speed manual transmission.
This car replaced a CAT D facelift XJR-S. I also owned an 86 D plate 5.3 HE coupe & a factory manual 5.3 coupé that was a bit too far gone for me to fund it’s restoration.
