I’m in the UK, and I would really like to replace the plastic screen in my Cabriolet’s rear hood (you can hardly see though mine it is so crazed)
Is there anywhere I can get the plastic to replace the screen myself (or is doing it myself too much of a challenge)
Alternatively, is there someone in the UK that I could send the existing hood to, who would install a replacement plastic screen in it ?
All suggestions appreciated

Laurence
If and when you get a reply please let me know as I can’t see out of my rear screen too.
How easy is it to remove the soft top ?
Cheers

Hi John,
I still have not found anyone who can replace the screen for me (other than the complete hood and screen), but have taken the hood off my car to see what is involved myself – I will let you know how I get on
Removing the hood is not that difficult. You basically undo the 4 hex bolts (2 each side) that hold the chrome roof assembly in place and the hex bolts located round the base of the hood itself (across the boot) and it all lifts off

Hi Kevin,
No, I’ve not been successful in my quest, though I’ve contacted quite a lot of places.
I’ve found a couple of places that will replace the whole hood and screen (at a cost) but I was trying to avoid that as the hood itself is in reasonable condition.
Please let me know how you get on

Hi Kevin,
I’ve actually taken the hood roof off my Cabriolet at the moment (have sent the mechanism off to get it re-chromed), so it wouldn’t be too much of a challenge to post it across to Ireland for the work to be done.
Hopefully it will work out for you and if he’s reasonably priced I’m sure he’ll get plenty of repeat business (not just mine but others are seeking to do this).
