Question about Roof Seals, Instrument Barnical and Indicators

Hi Lawrence
Can you let me know what is included in the Targa roof seal pack please. I have a 1984 Cabriolet and now have fitted a hard rear top to replace my original where the rear window had gone virtually completely cloudy, what an improvement !! but may well be interested in the seals.
I am currently trying to remove the instrument binnacle so that I can change the instrument lights to LEDs. I’m really struggling to get this out without breaking.
I am also looking at the possible options to change the front indicators to see if I can find a unit that might fit that has both a side light and indicator so I would then use that unit as a day light running light – do you know if anyone has done this before ? Or as an alternative approach changing the amber lens to white so I can use a twin colour filament bulb as I’ve done on another car – does anyone know of a suitable unit where I can get a pair of white/clear lenses ?
Many thanks for all your good work.

      Hi John,

I can answer 2 of your 3 questions.

The Targa roof seal is a length of seal rubber that has been manufactured to the same profile as the original that is used for the Targa panel and the rear fold down roof/hard top. There is an article that gives further information :

      Article : Targa Seals

      2) there is an article that I wrote a while back, that details how the instrument binnacle is removed (my solution for better lighting was to remove the green covers)

      Article : Instrument binnacle

      Cheers,

      Laurence
