To the Present — From Victoria to Brisbane at Last

I eventually arranged to fly to Melbourne in July 2018 to finalise the purchase, kicking a few stones along the way at paying a few thousand dollars more than I had hoped.

On arrival, I was confronted by a very sick owner who was on an oxygen tank and struggling to walk. I finally met Larry and his lovely wife, and it was immediately clear how much he loved this car and how saddened he was that he could no longer resolve its issues or enjoy it on the road.

We sat down for a coffee and a chat, and I was thankful I hadn’t pushed him further on price given his condition. I paid for the car, shook his hand, and promised I would bring this tired but beautiful Jaguar back to life. In
