Gearbox problems

Hi All,

I have what seems to be a gearbox problem on my ’83 model 5 speed manual 3.6 Manual xjsc (speedo drive gearbox). I’ve been told it could be the lay shaft. Not finding 5th gear any more and a grinding noise is coming from the gearbox.

Does anybody know where I could get a replacement box from and has anybody had any experience in this department that they can share? I am in East Sussex and currently trying to find a reliable technician who knows the car.
