The Launch of the XJS Soft Tops Club

The XJS Soft Tops Club began in late 2016 with a simple aim: to give XJS Cabriolet and Convertible owners a proper home. As the Club took shape, a new website followed — not as the focus, but as the foundation for a growing community built around shared knowledge, preservation, and enthusiasm for these rare cars.

By December 2016, it had become clear that owners of Jaguar XJS Cabriolets and Convertibles needed something more than an informal register or scattered online references. These cars — rare, distinctive, and often misunderstood — deserved a proper home, and their owners deserved a place to share knowledge, experiences, and enthusiasm.

That moment marked the launch of the XJS Soft Tops Club.

The Club was formed to bring together owners of all XJS soft-top variants: Jaguar-built XJS Cabriolets, factory and non-factory Convertibles, and even one-off or specialist conversions that fall outside traditional classifications. What mattered was not strict categorisation, but shared appreciation and preservation of these increasingly uncommon cars.
