There is only one way to put the rear roof of an XJ-SC Cabriolet up. If it is done incorrectly, the problem is immediately obvious: the roof will not stay in place, or the interior will quickly get wet in the rain.
Lowering the roof, however, is different.

When folding the rear roof down, it can be lowered in two different ways. In everyday use, you might get away with either method. The difference only becomes apparent when you try to fit the roof cover.
If the roof has been folded incorrectly, the cover simply will not fit properly — no matter how much effort is applied.
