This our annual XJS Soft Tops Club meet up for brunch at The Wharf (formerly Café Cargo), which is situated alongside a canal in Foulridge, which is near Colne, Pendle in Lancashire.
Previous years we have visited here on our way to the Lakes Classic Vehicle Show in Staveley the next day (Sunday), but we won't be doing that this year as Windermere and Ambleside Lions Club (organisers) have notified everyone that United Utilities are doing work at the Staveley Recreation Ground that weekend.
We visited the Cafe Cargo several times over recent years and each time we all had an enjoyable time there. The location is right beside a canal and the Cafe itself offers a wide range of snacks and meals. – fine food and good company.
There are some added benefits of meeting here, one of which is being able to include a visit to Boundary Mill (10 minutes down the road) for some retail therapy.
