12 days in Scotland

Diary of a XJ-SC Cabriolet touring holiday in Scotland, by David Jones.

The tour covered 1,200 miles in 12 days.

Day 1 – Saturday

We met up at Moffat, with sister Margaret & brother in law Geoff who promised to travel at a sedentary 70 mph, which of course he did (!!)  We had a very good run up to Perth, where we stopped and looked round the town and had a bite to eat.  Then we drove to our overnight stay, which I think was near the Bridge of Earn, at a brilliant B&B with very welcoming hosts.  Said hosts recommended local eateries and drinkeries – we first had a lovely meal and then tried a couple of places to sample the local brew and the welcome; I seem to remember we acquired a  local chap who wanted to know everything about our cars, where we were going to, and commented on long journey with petrol prices these days.
