Activity Guide for the XJS Soft Tops Club
Activity Report Guide

What is an Activity Record?
An Activity Record is a way of sharing something you have been out doing with your Jaguar.
It might be a visit to a classic car show, a weekend away, a scenic drive, a holiday, a local Jaguar gathering or simply an enjoyable day out that you think other members would like to read about.
Activities combine photographs with your own account of what you did, where you went and what happened along the way.
They don’t have to be official Club events. If you have been somewhere or done something interesting with your XJ-SC Cabriolet or XJS Convertible, it can become an Activity.
Sharing What We Do With Our Cars
The XJS Soft Tops Club brings together owners and enthusiasts from many different parts of the world, which means that most of us will never be able to attend the same shows, drives or meetings.
Activity Records allow us to share those experiences regardless of where they happen.
A member attending a Jaguar show in one part of the country can share the day with somebody hundreds of miles away. A touring holiday can give another owner ideas for their next trip. A visit to an interesting museum, historic location or scenic road may inspire somebody else to take their Jaguar there.
Collectively, the Activities section becomes a record of our cars actually being used and enjoyed rather than simply photographed or maintained.
What Can Become an Activity?
Almost anything involving your Jaguar can be worth sharing if there is a story behind it.
For example:
- A classic car or Jaguar show you attended
- A Club or informal gathering with other owners
- A scenic drive or favourite route
- A weekend away in your Jaguar
- A touring holiday at home or abroad
- A visit to a museum, historic house or other attraction
- A road trip with friends or other Jaguar owners
- A particularly memorable day out with the car
- Taking your Jaguar somewhere unusual or interesting
It doesn’t need to involve hundreds of miles or a major organised event. Sometimes a short Sunday drive that ends somewhere interesting can make just as enjoyable a story.
Tell Us What Happened
An Activity is more than a collection of photographs. The story behind them is what makes the record interesting.
Tell us where you went, why you decided to go and what you found when you arrived. Perhaps the weather was perfect, the journey was memorable or the Jaguar decided to introduce an unexpected mechanical adventure along the way.
You don’t need to write a formal article. Write as though you were telling another Club member about the day.
A few paragraphs and some photographs can be enough to turn an enjoyable day out into something that other members can experience with you.
Activity Record, Gallery Photo or Car Album?
The three features are designed to complement one another, with each providing a different way of sharing your car and your experiences.
An Activity Record is best when the story is about something you have been out doing — a show, drive, holiday, visit or other adventure.
A Gallery Photo is ideal when you have one photograph that you particularly want to share, together with the short story behind it.
A Car Album is the long-term home for the history of one particular Jaguar — its ownership, maintenance, restoration, modifications and memorable journeys.
In simple terms:
Activity Record — something you have been out doing.
Gallery Photo — one photograph worth sharing.
Car Album — the continuing story of your car.

Our Jaguars Were Made to be Enjoyed
Maintaining and preserving these cars is an important part of ownership, but so is getting behind the wheel and using them.
Every show, journey, weekend away and spontaneous drive adds another small chapter to the lives of our cars.
By sharing those experiences, you may inspire another member to visit somewhere new, attend an event or simply take their own XJS out for a drive.
If you’ve been somewhere with your Jaguar, tell us about it.
