Knobs

I’m hoping someone here knows what the thread size is for the 3.6 manual gear knob? I’m wanting to remove it and replace but don’t want to be stuck with a knob that’ll be getting no use (already got one of those)

Why not unscrew it and measure it .?

      Hi Bob Flint

I’m going to guess it’s a metric thread, but how do you measure it – is it the diameter of the bolt, but how do you determine the thread type, or is there only on pitch (or whatever thread coarseness is measured in).

Mark Thorley I seem to remember being told that the original gear knob on our cars is a really heavy one, for the specific reason of stopping the whole gear lever from vibrating

take it off and try different bolts ,even go to your local nut & bolt supplier then you will know what fit it is.

Sorry to read about the ‘no use’ one, join the club. At least we have our lovely cats to compensate!
