Do I require oil with ZDDP in it ?

Hello Everyone,

This is my first Jaguar, 1995 XJS Convertible, that I purchased it about three weeks ago. It is an original owner with 58,000 miles.

I am gathering up information so I can maintain it. It runs great as far as I can tell. I have a million questions about it. My main concern right now is what kind of oil should I use in it. The oil today does not have much zinc lubricant in it. Do I need to find an oil with ZDDP in it to protect the engine. What I have read so far is that ZDDP will eventually ruin the catalytic convertors.

What are your thoughts on this?

Fred
