Hi Robin, here are a few photos of Diana’s XJSC which show the rear seat conversion. Images are extremely rare unfortunately but these under close inspection give a general idea

Thanks Alan I think I’ll got the new filler cap when it gets a bit warmer outside as it won’t be a quick job I imagine

Welcome Ken, look forward to further news on your potential renewed ownership. Do you have any photos of your previous XJSC to share?

Was certainly a surprise Alan and caught me off guard.
It was nice to meet you and hopefully next year will bring more opportunities for us all to gather again

Yes, another excellent club meet with great company. Both my accompanying friends expressed how much they both enjoyed the day and felt welcomed by our members. They are looking forward to the next meeting already.

On a personal note, my surprise birthday cake was a lovely gesture (thank you Laurence &Christina) and it was wonderful to spend today with all my good friends in attendance.

Good point Laurence, it’s a tricky one especially as my present cap is in quite good condition and not really at the stage of looking shabby etc. Decisions decisions…….

Photos of the rod, official word is guide assembly (24 or 25 depending if your car is the 5.3 or 3.6) but I suspect the part is exactly the same either way. Jaguar part number C38916 or DAC2882 as shown. But check if Laurence if you need this part in case he has one

                              Morning Michael Hampton

I suspect at some point in the past the standard steering wheel had been replaced with something like a Nardi or similar wheel and the metal rod in the column that gives the horn push its connection removed. Upon refitting the standard steering wheel this rod was not reinstalled. Hence no horn!

As it happens I’ll be working on my own car today/tomorrow replacing my steering wheel so I’ll add a photo of the rod etc I’m referring to. I don’t have a spare unfortunately but maybe Laurence does from the Cabby he is breaking.

Regarding your Targa panels, I might be able to help you there also. I’ll get back to you on that. I know someone who is breaking a car. I’ll have a word

Nearly there, another coat of colour varnish then topcoat of laquer.
                                      It’s a slow process…..but a result
