Great weekend with a great crowd. Glad we managed to make it another success.
Hope next year the weather is better and ALL roads are open. Would be great to get a nice shot up on the mountain again.

You should be able to look it up from the riveted panel on the car that has the chassi/vin number ,interior/exterior colour codes etc are denoted Paint and Trim, then look up those options on the XJS Decoder site.

Laurence and I have been working through a provisional itinerary for the weekend and so far we have got the following;
Friday 3rd May;
Arrive in the Isle of Man and have a meal in the local pub in Kirk Michael or Ballaugh
Saturday 4th May;
Again heading down to Cregneash and the Sound, hopefully the weather will be clearer so we can maybe stop at the Bungalow en-route. In the afternoon heading back up the west coast passing Niarbyl and having an ice cream @ Davidson’s in Peel
Saturday evening we are thinking of a group meal @ Vellika’s in Ramsey who can put on a selection of dishes for us.
Sunday 5th May;
Back by popular demand another trip to the Laxey Wheel and then lunch at Ballacregga/Salmon centre for a hot/cold buffet, Angie who kindly provided the bbq for us last year is now the general manager for the Salmon centre and she will cordon off their top car park.
Sunday afternoon we were maybe thinking of Milntown in Ramsey or the Isle of Man Transport Museum up at Jurby.
For those that came last year and did not make the Peel Fire Festival we are again thinking of this for the Sunday night.

The other Cab on the Isle of Man has a half leather, half cloth interior.

Ferry prices with the Steam Racket have now been released for next year and are as follows;
Friday 3rd May
Heysham to Douglas depart: 2:15pm arrive: 6:00pm
Liverpool to Douglas depart: 11:15am arrive: 2:00pm
Monday 6th May
Douglas to Liverpool depart: 3:00pm arrive: 5:45pm
Similar cost to last year £212, it could be that like last year there are a few changes to times or craft on the route.

We have got 10 rooms reserved at the Ramsey Park Hotel

We can also get like this year the self catering accommodation at Cammall Farm
Sunday afternoon saw us take a gentle amble up North, re-grouping at the hotel and heading up to Chris Kelly’s, who had kindly invited us to see his cars. Meeting in Andreas with the Manx Classic Car Club.
Sunday saw our date with the Lady Isabella (the Laxey Wheel), the largest working water wheel in the world. Thanks must go out to Manx National Heritage who allowed us to use the space just below the wheel for our cars as the car park was filling fast because of the weather – Another glorious day.
Derek very kindly was waving the flag for the Soft Tops.
Six cars were lined up in front.
Front Row – John Bevan (local JEC Member and fellow Cabriolet owner), Laurence Jones and Chris Hobbs (local JEC Member and Convertible owner)
Second Row – Gary Scott, Stephen Plummer and Jon Scales
It was now time for lunch, so we headed down to the Mines Tavern and squeezed 7 or so cars in their compact car park. Angie at the Mines provided a very splendid BBQ, which others were asking if they could join in with, only to be told it was a private function.
Laurence took on the Manx spirit and applied his own form of the three legs.
Which Ever Way You Throw Us, We Will Always Land On Our Feet!
Saturday, the intrepid adventurers awoke to beautiful sunshine in Ramsey, so hoods were taken down and cars prepared for the run across the mountain to the Pit Lane in Douglas. Unbeknownst to all Manannan’s Cloak was descending across the hills and the east of the island, with the arrival of some rain around the Goose Neck on the Mountain Course. The cars were holding tight behind the leader (me) to ensure bends were found and negotiated.
Hoods were hurriedly replaced and the cars lined up.
Heading south, the Cloak continued to become thicker and all waved and and said hello to the fairies. Arriving at the Sound late morning for coffee and some nice cake, all cars aligned together. Not something the Isle of Man sees many of – 6 soft top xjs together.
After light refreshments we headed to Port Erin, the Cloak starting to lift and parked along the Promenade by the beach.
The group split to explore the delights of Port Erin (or should that be over dose on Ice Cream)
True to the islands natural favour for the West and North, we headed up to Peel, by the time we passed through Foxdale, the sun was shining and temperatures were improving. All were left to explore Peel on foot to see the delights of the the Castle, harbour and Marina.
Saturday evening saw the group meet up for a meal at the Ramsey Park Hotel, with 15 sitting down to eat and have a few drinks.
Alan,
Looking at the picture from Steven, if in theory that was one that came from the factory then those seat belts are not the normal inertia style that the front has, but a pull and tighten, but could also depend upon what was around?? Although I remember the coupe my dad used to have had inertia sea belts in the back and it was a similar age to the cab.
Jon
Just joining the conversation, those belts look like the ones in the back of mine, not inertia style but pull to tighten Steven.
Jon
Alan,
I needed a new Headlight for mine last year because of a crack in the lens, have you tried the following link. I picked a good one up here.

You put in the details of the car and it goes out to various suppliers for quotes.

9th February 2018 at 11:26 in reply to: JLR Classic Works – XJ-SC Cabriolet and Convertible visit and display #11848All cleared at the moment for me to attend, especially after your generous offer of a loan car, if I can’t get mine there Laurence.

I know we now have very few spaces left for this but we may be able to obtain more accommodation as necessary.
I have had it confirmed today and yesterday that we have got reserved access to both Cregneash/The Sound/Calf of Man.
And not forgetting the Lady Isobella
We may also have access to the TT Grandstand Pit Lane
Jon
Mullagh bog Jaguar XJS er turrys Ellan Vannin
As this is now right around the corner, I have been in contact with Manx National Heritage to confirm a few details. We should be able to have a couple of very good picture venues of the cars lined up under the Laxey Wheeland at the Sound/ Cregneash – Cregneash being a rebuilt Traditional Manx Village.
