        Welcome Roger ,

Thank you for joining as a Cabriolet Member of the XJS Soft Tops Club, I hope you find your membership interesting – feel free to participate in any new or past discussion topics.

You have two Membership Photo Albums, these can be found via the Main Menu ==> My Account ==> My Photos. It would be great if you could add a photo or two of your Cabriolet for all members to see.

Please reply to this topic and tell us how you discovered our Club and a little about your own XJ-SC Cabriolet and your general enthusiasm and interest the XJS Soft Top models.

          Hi Laurence,

          Many thanks for the welcome.

I found the club through the XJS Club and Facebook.

I bought my 5.3 V12 XJ-SC only a few months ago any it was in generally pretty good order but I have since restored the rather orange lacquered veneer and had some work done on restitching the seats.

The old R12 Air Con was inoperative so I have had it converted to R143 and it now keeps me cool as I am sure you know how much heat the 5.3 engine throws out.

The biggest change to date is the conversion to LPG. I took it to Neal Muggleston in Lincolnshire who specialises in Jaguar conversions. I am very happy with the result and the savings in fuel costs.

I still have a few items on my “to do” list which includes new leads and belts, re-connection of the cigar lighter for mt sat nav, repair of the electric mirrors and re connection of the rear speakers in the car.

I will pop a couple of pictures on the web site and I can send you an article on restoring woodwork on the XJ-SC if you are interested?

          Cheers

          Roger

            Hi Roger ,

            Thanks for sharing your news.

Im sure lots members will be interested in hearing more about the LPG conversion. I’d like tonneau to, though to be honest the car that might benefit it most (my V12 XJS Convertible) is the one I can’t do it to, as we take it to Europe through the Tunnel – LPG is banned on Eurotunnel.

Please do let me have an article about the veneer restoration – membership@xjs-soft-tops.com and I’ll publish it for everyone to read.

              Hi Laurence,

I will put some details up on the General discussion site.

The article is a word document. How best to get it to you?

              Cheers

              Roger
