The post about XJ-SC Production Figures has been viewed 53 times and been read by just 15 members.

I know Laurence won’t agree but part of the problem is no body gets notified when something is posted.

I only found Robin’s comment about Rear Seats by chance.

Yes, I must admit I sometimes only visit once in a while. I also read the JEC and XKEC forums in similar fashion, so my available time gets divided between them.

Maybe an email when someone adds to a thread would be useful, as like you I only realise maybe a week or two after original post.

              Hi Robin and John

I’ve split your discussion into a new topic from the Production Figures thread.

I have explored, and continue to explore, options to send out an email daily or weekly (configurable by each member’s preference) listing all New Topics or Replies posted in that timeframe. However, I’ve yet to find a module that works satisfactorily and therefore have not updated the site to have this functionality.

I do however want to introduce this important notification service to our Club site, but not until I can get it working smoothly – the last thing 200+ members need is 5 or 6 notifications emails a day filling up their in-boxes.

Hi Laurence, yes I agree it’s best to get it right or not at all. It’s easy to get loads of unwanted mail from forums that just gets disregarded and deleted.
I obviously got an email this morning though which is why I am responding more quickly than usual, so some notification does work!

                Best regards, Robin

                  Hi Robin,

There is a feature called @Mention available to all members already – simply include the member’s UserId with the @ sign infront of it and that member gets a notification they’ve been mentioned in the topic/reply @memberid

Click Here to see that article about that feature.

Hi <font color=”blue”>Laurence Jones</font> <!– @laurence_admin –> What a good idea, I must have missed that before as seems a really good yet simple idea as often I do address to individuals even if it’s a genereal topic..

I’ll try and remember for next time..

                    Regards, Robin
Ps trouble is being a Facebook and Twatter non-believer I don’t already know some of these tricks that are perhaps normal to other folks!

                        Hi Robin

You’re correct, the HTML shouldn’t be visible – seems the filter isn’t allowing <'font'> through. I’ll have to take a look 🙁

                          Hi Robin

I’ve just spent a couple of hours playing with the code in the background and I believe I have sorted the problem – the bits of code should indeed be hidden when you save the posting (for all users and not just me).

                          Cheers,

                          Laurence
