It was a glorious day today – dry and warm too – so we ventured out in our LHD 4.0 litre XJS Convertible with the roof down on a few hour long road trip from North Manchester up to Pendle, Lancashire then a meander back – 80 mile round trip.
We stopped off for a very tasty and well presented bacon butty and pot of tea at the Café Cargo, Foulridge, Colne
A delightful Café with plenty of seating for customers inside and outside – and the service was excellent as there seemed to be adequate staff to keep the customers happy.
The café is right alongside a canal that had many boats on – and there’s even a barge alongside runs canal trips on Sunday from April onwards.
This is definitely a venue for a meet up in the next couple of months – I’ll post a date in the next few days, when I’ve firmed up a couple of other activities that are calling for our time.
We had the roof down for the whole trip and the car was very well behaved the whole time – she’s no longer sulking after crying oil all over the drive (hole in the oil cooler). Fingers crossed she stays happy and takes us safely to Belgium and back at Easter.
