Thanks indeed, for the Welcome.. by way of background, I’m retired and live in an outer suburb of Melbourne, down in Oz. Anything with an engine has been a lifelong interest and Jaguars have been a part of that.. from a ’69 Series 1 XJ6 back in the late 70’s to an XJC 5.3, now 6.4, that has just had its 30th Anniversary in our care, with two rebuilds in that time, the last one extensive with much modification. Now a new arrival, a 1988, 1st of October delivery 5.3 Convertible in Satin Beige (duco is in great condition) with just 35,000 miles on the clock.. a lifetime average of about a 100 mile a month. Car is in great nick and have just treated it to new Hood, outer cloth and interior lining, 29 years had seen some fading, and a HBE front cross member brace. Exhaust may need a tidy up in the next 12 months and cosmetically, perhaps some new “wood” for the ski slope. It retains the original Cibie lights and the fog’s & front dam are in as new condition.. I did get a pair of new Cibies from a seller in Limerick, just as a precaution as they seem pretty scarce down here and I’d rather not have to go to the 4 light option. Plan is for the XJS to retain its originality.. no modifications as I’ve other projects taking up time & wallet in that respect. Cheers all.
